Galway senior hurling manager Shane O’Neill makes some big calls ahead of the 2021 season

All going to the plan the commencement of the Allianz hurling league is just around the corner we will see some new faces this year for Tribesmen. While some players will not be involved in this years Galway panel.

Liam Mellows duo Stephen Barrett and Jack Hastings have been central for Mellows in reaching three county finals in a row in 2017, 2018 and 2019 and have earned themselves a call up.

After a stint of playing rugby over in Australia Jack Canning will join his uncle Joe Canning on this year’s Galway senior hurling squad. Galway U20 Hurler Sean Neary, captain of the Galway minor hurlers in 2018 will link up with the Galway squad for his time.

Impressive performances at club level from Declan Cronin, Daniel Loftus and Cian Burke have seen themselves being added to the Tribesmen senior hurling squad for 2021.

Limerick Outlast Galway

2017 All-Ireland winning goalkeeper James Skehill has called time on his inter county career. While brother of David Burke, Eanna Burke has departed the Galway senior hurling squad along with Paul Killeen, Ronan Burke, Jack Grealish, Kevin Hussey and Tadhg Haran.
